Here is my own current and before, all DIY. But creativity is not what is being celebrated here when the categories are determined not by creativity, but by how much one spends.

Yes being rich isn’t a prerequisite but having the ability to have a vision and plan is the key while being able to do the majority of work yourself also helps.

This was our 1000+ SF covered outdoor living space with kitchen, living and dining area, and fireplace. The outdoor living area was integrated into the back of the house with the foundation and roof when it was constructed. It was also designed with numerous and some large windows including an interior hallway on the exterior wall for full viewing of the outdoor living area and yard from just every vantage point from within the house.

The outdoor living area faces north so the majority of the area is never in the direct hot Central Texas. To provide cooling there are three outdoor fans in each area (living, dining, kitchen).   Read more…
